Part of thinking critically is evaluating the validity of arguments (your own and others’), and so to think critically you must accept that some arguments are better than others (and that some are just plain awful). Critical thinking of any kind is never universal in any individual; everyone is subject to episodes of undisciplined or irrational thought.
