We must regularly model for our students what it is to reflectively examine, critically assess, and effectively improve the way we live. Some colleges and universities have successfully used such community-based inquiry (cbi) methods (huard, 2001 ) to address critical-thinking outcomes in stem courses (magnussen et al.
